Continuing our reviews of the five eco / conservation organizations that have been nominated to receive funds from our efforts in the “Green Spots” category at Phil and Tropic brings us to The Land Trust Alliance. When a Spot is claimed and a Novel Deed is purchased at any Green Spot, a portion of those proceeds goes towards an annual contribution to the charity you all vote for!

If you operate a business that is an attraction, resort, landmark – in other words, a popular place in your community – we could go into partnership together. You don’t have to be a tourist attraction. Maybe you are more of a local interest place . Heck, you could be a great breakfast spot in town! We don’t really mind who you are.

Perhaps the most prominent organization nominated in our Green Spots category to receive donations from our collective efforts is the Sierra Club Foundation. Every time a spot is claimed in our Green Spots category a significant portion of the proceeds are given away to eco and conservation organizations who are working hard to protect this land. If you haven’t voted yet for your favorite charity, please do so! The organization who gets the most votes will receive the largest percentage of funds!

Studies have proven that consumers are more apt to try for the first time and go on to become loyal to businesses that are actively engaged in giving back to the community. Phil and Tropic provides a platform for business to connect with customers like never before in a causal marketing effort.

We think Fun Spots are going to be a popular category at Phil and Tropic’s fundraising adventure! It is where people claim, share and collect resorts, attractions, events, scenic byways and more. So, we wanted to make sure a deserving charity group could receive funds from all of our efforts. We chose military family support organizations for this category and this year nominated five charities for people to vote for when they visit the site.

We recently reviewed and nominated five eco / conservation organizations to receive funds from our efforts in the “Green Spots” category at Phil and Tropic. Green Spots represent all of the parks, open spaces and landmarks across the country. When a Spot is claimed and a Novel Deed is purchased at any Green Spot, a large portion of those proceeds goes towards an annual contribution to our nominated charities! Best of all, people who come to our web site vote for who will receive the funds. So, we chose 5 nominees but you choose the winner!
The Conservation Fund caught our eye initially because it is a highly rated charity that returns more than 95% of the funds it raises to actual programs. Less than 1% is spent on fundraising and less than 2% on administrative (salaries) expenses. There are hundreds of great charities out there but in our opinion, if you don’t spend the money on the program you don’t cut it with us!

Green gifts make a statement. They say you care enough to give a gift but you care more about our planet than ever before! More and more people are looking for the perfect green Christmas gift idea this year. Our Novel Deeds make great green gifts any time of year but are perhaps even more meaningful during the holiday time.
What makes our product, the “Novel Deed,” so green?
- There is no packaging whatsoever
- Your recipient can elect to keep the Novel Deed electronic or print it out
- It’s easy to share with the whole family online via Facebook, Twitter and Email
- A significant portion of the proceeds goes towards ecological and conservation charities

A huge portion of Phil and Tropic’s fundraising adventure takes place at natural places all across the USA; parks, landmarks, open spaces, as well as places like lighthouses and monuments. The Phil and Tropic program gives people a meaningful way to “adopt a park” or any natural or man made monument or space.

People ask us why “Support Your Cause” is so prominently displayed in our logo. It’s simple; we are just a vehicle for what needs to get done, providing fundraising help! There are literally thousands of charitable organizations, supported by millions of people, doing good things out there. We provide a platform for growing and expanding the idea of philanthropy. It is our sincere belief that the earlier a person is exposed to these concepts the more they will feel compelled to be a part of it throughout their lives.
