Q. What is our mission at Phil and Tropic?

Ans: Our mission is to create FUN, affordable ways to bring the public and FUNdraisers together to support a variety of causes! Grass roots social media fundraising

Q. What do I get when I claim my spot?

Ans: The ultimate souvenir, gift, keepsake or donation that includes a NovelDeed, photo album and your spot.

Q. What is my spot?

Ans: Your Spot is your personal GPS coordinate that you adopt. You can nickname your spot, add a personal note to it, then view your spot and note online.

Q. What is my NovelDeed?

Ans: Your NovelDeed is your certificate of authenticity. Each spot is registered, one-of-a-kind, and can easily be customized with your picture and message. You can download it, print it, post it on your Facebook wall or send one as a gift.

Q. What is my photo album?

Ans: Your photo album contains several fantastic photos near your spot. Some photos you have probably never seen. You will be able to personalize your album with your own photos and continue to build your photo album if you choose.

Q. What else do I get when I claim my spot?

Ans: The feeling of pride and the satisfaction of knowing that you helped support a great cause.

Q. What do we mean when we say "little things make big things happen"?

Ans: You claim a Fun Novelty Product (little thing) and Support a Cause (big thing) at the Same Time. As the stewards of our world we have a responsibility to support it for our future generations. It's impossible for any of us to do this by ourselves, but if each of us participates just a little bit then it becomes very possible to create a lasting future. Every spot claimed (little thing) generates revenue to support our favorite causes ( big thing).

Q. How much of my purchase goes to the "cause"?

Ans:
  • The amount depends on the organization that owns the listing. It will vary and can be as much as 100%. Each listing should be clearly marked with this information.
  • If the listing is from a charitable organization you may also use this for tax benefits in some countries. This too should be clearly marked.
  • Listings owned by Phil and Tropic will donate a minimum of 50% of every dollar received.

Q. What are my listing options? ( listing owners)

Ans: Depending on your type of organization you may pay a listing fee, a percentage of sales or it may be free.

Q. Is Phil and Tropic a 501 c3 (charitable organization)?

Ans: We are charitable in the sense that we create affordable, easy to use, FUNdraising tools but we are not a registered not-for-profit organization. We are a for profit organization that offers our FUNdraising tools to support your favorite causes.

Q. How do we determine who receives Phil and Tropic's donation?

Ans:
  • It Starts with Your Vote! Even if you never buy a Phil and Tropic Spot you still can help decide how we give our money away. Please vote in each category across the site. At the end of the year we will tabulate the votes and the winner in each category will receive the funds we've collected from that category.
  • Green Spots - All sales of Green Spots include a generous contribution to the conservation or ecological foundation we all choose to contribute to!
  • Fun Spots and Magic Spots - All sales of Fun Spots and Magic Spots include a generous contribution to the military personnel and their family's foundation that we all choose to contribute to!
  • Sports Spots and School Spots - All sales of Sports Spots and School Spots include a generous contribution to the health and well being of children in our country through the foundation we all choose to contribute to!

Q. Can I give a spot as a gift?

Ans: Yes you can. We call them Gift Spots. In fact, they are one of the most unique, fun and caring gifts you can give.

Q. Will I receive financial benefit when I claim a spot?

Ans: Your NovelDeed, spot and photo album are novelty items and are not issued as an investment. Although NovelDeeds may look like land deeds or stock certificates they are novelty certificates. You do not own or hold title to land nor are they a real stock certificate of any corporation.

Q. What rights do I have when I claim my spot?

Ans:
  • You have the right to say that you have "claimed your spot" at one of your favorite places.
  • You have the right to give the ultimate personalized gift to someone.
  • You have the right to say that you are helping to support fantastic causes!
